My 1st Blog Candy!

Hi everyone!  I am kicking myself right now because putting together this blog candy

was so quick and easy!  I was going to try and do the whole Random.org thing, and get a super great picture of the candy, but in the end all of those things were delaying the actual posting, so here it is.  SIMPLE.  Bad lighting for the photo, and no Random.org since I don't know how to use it!  My fabulous assistant, Emily,

will be drawing a name out of a hat!  No rules and hoops, just leave a comment if you are interested in winning my first blog candy.  You do not need to be a follower unless you want to.  A couple of the products are things I have won that I can't use, so I thought it would be nice to give someone else a shot at it.  (Like the Tim Holtz tattered flowers dies - I don't own a die-cutting machine yet!)  Here's a close up pic since I am also not going to list each product~ Easy peasy!

One thing I wont procrastinate on is the date of the drawing, I'm very picky about that!  Drawing will be a week from today, so Saturday, December 17th Em and I will pick the winner :)  All comments must be posted by Friday December 16th @ 1159 pm EST. International entries are welcome :)  See you then!

It's been a while!!

My goodness I haven't posted in so long!!!!  I haven't been in my scraproom for so many reasons, the hectic holiday season, different work schedule, fatigue, lack of mojo.. you name it!

I was super excited to read my email this morning and find out that one of my very favorite bloggers has a new YouTube channel, and so I wanted to post about it in case anyone missed it.  Her name is Kathy Racoosin (a name I'm sure you've heard of!) from  The Daily Marker !

She designs for two of my favorite places, Lily Pad Cards & Penny Black !

If you want to be inspired and view Kathy's very first video of her series entitled "It's In the Details", click HERE!

P.S. There's some yummy Penny Black candy involved!

P.P.S.  I haven't forgot about my blog candy - in fact, I am going to go and get it out RIGHT NOW and photograph it, and post it!  No more procrastinating for me ;)  Stay tuned!!!!

Just for fun!

Look at me! TWO posts in one day!  Don't think that will happen again!  Anyway, in trying to keep up the momentum, I have one more thing to share with you today... this was was made just for fun, and just for me :)

Don't you just love that crackled distressed frame??!!  I sure did.  Since I didn't have a picture to go in it, I decided to make a fun little shabby project with some of my leftover products from last Halloween.  The girl and the pumpkin are a rubon that I cut out, (sorry, can't remember the manufacturer!), the leaves around the flower are a gorgeous stamp from Heartfelt Creations that I stamped onto a page from a paperback book!  (And that's my newest fave technique!)  I have so many old paperbacks lying around, some are even duplicates so I really don't feel bad about ripping them up!  The angel wings are from Memrie Mare's Etsy shop, the chandelier rub on and the background pp is Pink Paislee's "Hocus Pocus" collection from 2010.  Added some different strokes of cream and black paint around the edges to further the distressed look.  And the Oct 31st rub-ons on the bottom right??  Well, they were soooooo old, that when I tried to use them they broke off all over!  But hey, it's a 'happy little accident' right?!  All in all, I'm happy with it for the minimal amount of time I spent on it, and the fact it's just going in my craft room :)

Take care my crafty friends, and OHhhh, one more thing - I'm going to tease you a bit, and let you know that I am planning a pretty substantial blog candy!  I have been lucky enough to win quite a lot of prizes this year, and am so excited to give back a little!  I'm still in the planning/gathering stages so stay tuned! (Hopefully 1-2 wks I'll have it posted!)

Have a Cozy Christmas!

Hello to my Blog Land friends!  Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend.  Mine is just starting, a glorious 3 whole days off, hunkering down with the family and enjoying quality time at home :)  Absolutely, positively, nothing better :)

So finally, I've started to break out of my crafty rut and made this card for Lily Pad's monthly sketch challenge from Nina B Designs.  Used some of my FAVORITE new stamps from Lawn Fawn!  Of all the stamps I've tried, Lawn Fawn has the crispest (is that a word??) images EVER!

Did some paper piecing for the little flame, Distress Ink for the fireplace, Copic markers and Glossy Accents for the adorable little lights, and Snow-Tex to make the snow on the mantle :)  The paper is from October Afternoon's 5 & Dime collection.

And here's the sketch:

If you get a chance, stop over to the Lily Pad and check out the challenge!  I'm off to my scrap room to make more, hope the motivation lasts!  See you soon ;)

The CLASSroom's WCMD Sketch Challenge (EHWCMD4)

Hi my friends!  Hope you had a fun day yesterday, I know I did!  Finished up a bunch of cards to enter in Paper Craft's WCMD contest and I had a blast!  Only wish I could have a WCMD every week ;)

The purpose of this post however, is to show you my card I made for Julia Stainton's WCMD Sketch Challenge (EHWCMD4) on Ellen Hutson's The CLASSroom !  Here is her gorgeous sketch....

And here's my take on it :)  I used all of my "new to me" goodies from Pink Paislee's "Hocus Pocus" collection!  I have been dying to use this, it's one of my very fave Halloween lines.
And I got to try out the paint splatter technique!!!  (I'm sure it has an official techy kind of name, but I'm not familiar with it LOL)

Sorry the photo is so horrid, had to upload it at the last minute and it's dark, dark, dark out.  So had to go with a kitchen shot ;)

Thanks for looking!  I hope you get to play along, there are 4 challenges and LOADS of blog candy!!

Lily Pad Cards "Resist" challenge!!

So even though I have been quiet in Blogland lately, I am still busy making cards every chance I get!! Made this card for Lily Pad Cards website, the resist challenge is being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.  I love resist stamping, love playing with Distress Inks, embossing powders, stamps.. you name it.  So, needless to say, I am in my element when doing cards like this!

I used the Fiskars Everywhere Punch to punch the scalloped window in the center, the background flowers are from Penny Black, and the sentiment and tag on the bottom are from The Craft's Meow. Oh, and cardstock is PTI and let me tell ya.. this was my first time using their cardstock and I finally know what I have been missing!!!!!!!!  If you're like me, you're thinking .."but all cs looks so similar, why pay more?"..  Well, here's what I relished about it.. #1 :  My cards now stand up on their own!  Imagine that huh??!!! #2:  Hardly any bends or creases (unless I put it there on purpose), #3: Very sturdy, thick and ink-loving!!  Definitely worth the money in my book!

Hope you all have a wonderful evening, I have to go get the little prune out of the bathtub and into cozy PJ's!!  Hugs :)

Wishing You A Day Full Of Sunshine...

Hola peeps!  Just posting to show a quick card I made for Lucy Abram's Rainbow Week challenge!  I finally got to use some Margaritaville that I won from American Crafts last month, I figured what better papers to use for a rainbow challenge than the bright and bold primary colors in this collection :)

The cute clouds and bicycle are from Jillibean Soup's "Blossom Soup" collection that is so stinkin' cute!  Seriously, every piece of paper and embellishment in Blossom Soup is just perfection!  So no more hoarding!  I'm using it all up!  I've challenged myself to not buy anything else until I use up at least 1/4 of my stash!  Which, sadly means I can't purchase any CHA releases until then.. :(  BUT, hey, doesn't mean I can't WIN stuff!  Blog candy, contests, challenges like this one are so awesome for the financially challenged scrapper such as myself ;)  **Oh, almost forgot - the sun stamp and the sentiment are from the "Baggin' Some Rays" set from The Craft's Meow :)  {Heart} their stamps ;)
Okay, I'm going to stop blabbing on and on, thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Emily's First Card!!

My little girl made her first card, I am so proud!  4 years old and she loves to stamp with her Mommy... (But only for a few minutes, then she gets bored and moves on to bigger and better things ;)

Starting with the background, is Echo Park's new Countryside collection.  In the middle is a new stamp from Hero Arts, isn't that the cutest little car driving home with Christmas tree on top??!!  I was so lucky to win both of these items in a blog candy contest recently on Tiffany Ervin's blog, along with a Penny Black stamp, ink pads and more!!  She has an awesome blog so check her out :)
As you can clearly see, Emily has added the driver and passenger, lights and ornaments on the tree, a road under the tires, and on the bottom right - the three circles??  Well, that's a computer and a mouse Mom! DUH!!!

Em and I are submitting this card to the Anything Goes Summer Holiday Children's Challenge @ Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog!  Check it out here :  http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2011/07/summer-holiday-childrens-challenge.html

Thanks for stopping by, be back soon!

Our Wedding

Afternoon ladies!

Here to post a quick LO I made for a couple of challenges, the first is Amy Heller's Scrap Your Scraps Summer Challenge (week 5).  Amy's work is absolutely amazing, and when she presented this idea to use up her scrap pieces of paper, I was instantly hooked!  I have two boxes full of scrap pieces that just sit and accumulate, so this is a great way to thin it out & save money (by not buying more paper that I don't need!).  And if you see the prizes she gives away, you definitely wont want to miss out!
I've used a ton of my G45 scraps, and since this is a wedding LO (me and the hubbs), I am going to also enter the G45 Wedding LO challenge!  It's been a long time since I've made a LO, let alone one NOT of my daughter!!!!  I really had fun making this one :)  Sorry I couldn't get a closer shot - I see a lot of it is hard to see, unfortunately.

Well I hope you have a wonderful weekend, I'm off to put my little tike down for a nap and then we're headed to a festival this evening!  Hope to get some great pics to share with you :)

FLY

Hello my friends, hope you are all well and busy crafting!!  I haven't been doing too much - I've developed carpal tunnel or something strange with my fingers and wrist... So I'm trying to rest it as much as possible!  Sorry I haven't been making the comments rounds that much but I promise I'll be back in the swing of things real soon :)

The card I'm sharing tonight is stamped with one of the Unity/Webster's Itty Bitty's - Christmas Delivery.  I won this set way back in May and it's finally landed in my hands two days ago (long story, but just glad I have it now ;)
Used a simple technique with Distress Inks for the colored background...- wanted to link the video with Jennifer McGuire demonstrating it, but I cannot find it!!  If you go to YouTube.com and search for Jennifer McGuire Distress Inks, you'll find anything you've ever wanted to know about them!  Also used a lot of Pink Paislee's Artisan Elements.. they are so gorgeous!

I'm entering this card in two challenges:  Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog's - All White
                                                           Charisma Cardz - Distressing

Well I'm off to see the end of the Tigers ballgame!!  Thanks for reading, have a great evening and weekend my crafty friends :)

Embossing Challenge

Hi peeps, just popping in to post a couple of cards I made for the embossing challenge over at Simply Scrapping Crafts :)  They have 3 or 4 challenges going on and you can pick and choose which you would like to enter.  I could only find time to get these two done for the embossing.  I'm happy with the first one and hate the second!!!!  Stupid embossing powder on the sun stuck in the wrong places and so it's sloppy looking.. But I wanted to enter two cards, and there's only one day left so this is what I'm left with!  (I promise I'll try to do better for the August challenges!!!)
First card is made with a lot of Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage products!  Just adore that company!!  The embossed part is the red Core'dinations cardstock which I embossed with my Sizzix Texture Boutique Embossing Machine.  So here it is:

And here's my embarrassing card!!!!  The sun is a beautiful stamp set call Baggin' Some Rays by The Craft's Meow.  I embossed it with white embossing powder.  Most of the paper on the card is from American Craft's new Margaritaville collection, with the exception of the bathing suits (or bathing soup's as my 4 yr old calls them!) which are from Fancy Pants Rusted Sun collection.

Well that's it for tonight!  I'm off to bed ;)  Hope to get a lot of crafting done tomorrow because the little one will be out of town at a parade with her Grandma!  Yipeee!!!!!!   .... It's just too bad I have to go to work .. cough, cough! J/K  Later :)

A couple of cards to show you!

Well hello there!  I have been sneaking in some crafty moments here and there, and have finished two cards.  Made this first one for my beautiful cousin Kim, to thank her for always giving us her daughter's gently used clothes.  She buys the most gorgeous outfits for her daughter -things I could never afford for Emily, so I'm quite grateful !

This card features Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen papers, Prima collage stamp, crinkled seam binding bought on Memrie Mare's Etsy, and a lucious red paper rose :)

Next up - Using up my stash of Pretty Little Studio products ;)  I kept thinking that I wanted to see how PLS papers would look against black...  I think I like it, but will be experimenting some more later :)

Well, that's it for me, going to try and get some shut eye ;)  Have a wonderful weekend my friends and thanks for stopping by!
