Just for fun!

Look at me! TWO posts in one day!  Don't think that will happen again!  Anyway, in trying to keep up the momentum, I have one more thing to share with you today... this was was made just for fun, and just for me :)

Don't you just love that crackled distressed frame??!!  I sure did.  Since I didn't have a picture to go in it, I decided to make a fun little shabby project with some of my leftover products from last Halloween.  The girl and the pumpkin are a rubon that I cut out, (sorry, can't remember the manufacturer!), the leaves around the flower are a gorgeous stamp from Heartfelt Creations that I stamped onto a page from a paperback book!  (And that's my newest fave technique!)  I have so many old paperbacks lying around, some are even duplicates so I really don't feel bad about ripping them up!  The angel wings are from Memrie Mare's Etsy shop, the chandelier rub on and the background pp is Pink Paislee's "Hocus Pocus" collection from 2010.  Added some different strokes of cream and black paint around the edges to further the distressed look.  And the Oct 31st rub-ons on the bottom right??  Well, they were soooooo old, that when I tried to use them they broke off all over!  But hey, it's a 'happy little accident' right?!  All in all, I'm happy with it for the minimal amount of time I spent on it, and the fact it's just going in my craft room :)

Take care my crafty friends, and OHhhh, one more thing - I'm going to tease you a bit, and let you know that I am planning a pretty substantial blog candy!  I have been lucky enough to win quite a lot of prizes this year, and am so excited to give back a little!  I'm still in the planning/gathering stages so stay tuned! (Hopefully 1-2 wks I'll have it posted!)

Have a Cozy Christmas!

Hello to my Blog Land friends!  Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend.  Mine is just starting, a glorious 3 whole days off, hunkering down with the family and enjoying quality time at home :)  Absolutely, positively, nothing better :)

So finally, I've started to break out of my crafty rut and made this card for Lily Pad's monthly sketch challenge from Nina B Designs.  Used some of my FAVORITE new stamps from Lawn Fawn!  Of all the stamps I've tried, Lawn Fawn has the crispest (is that a word??) images EVER!

Did some paper piecing for the little flame, Distress Ink for the fireplace, Copic markers and Glossy Accents for the adorable little lights, and Snow-Tex to make the snow on the mantle :)  The paper is from October Afternoon's 5 & Dime collection.

And here's the sketch:

If you get a chance, stop over to the Lily Pad and check out the challenge!  I'm off to my scrap room to make more, hope the motivation lasts!  See you soon ;)

The CLASSroom's WCMD Sketch Challenge (EHWCMD4)

Hi my friends!  Hope you had a fun day yesterday, I know I did!  Finished up a bunch of cards to enter in Paper Craft's WCMD contest and I had a blast!  Only wish I could have a WCMD every week ;)

The purpose of this post however, is to show you my card I made for Julia Stainton's WCMD Sketch Challenge (EHWCMD4) on Ellen Hutson's The CLASSroom !  Here is her gorgeous sketch....

And here's my take on it :)  I used all of my "new to me" goodies from Pink Paislee's "Hocus Pocus" collection!  I have been dying to use this, it's one of my very fave Halloween lines.
And I got to try out the paint splatter technique!!!  (I'm sure it has an official techy kind of name, but I'm not familiar with it LOL)

Sorry the photo is so horrid, had to upload it at the last minute and it's dark, dark, dark out.  So had to go with a kitchen shot ;)

Thanks for looking!  I hope you get to play along, there are 4 challenges and LOADS of blog candy!!
