Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Hello!

This is my first entry for the SSS Wednesday "Anything Goes" Challenge #68.  I will be doing more cards using Penny Black products in the next day or two.

For this card, I started with navy cardstock, white heat embossed the images and then mixed in some traditional watercolors with white gouache since I was not using watercolor paper.  I love this quick and easy trick for watercoloring on dark colored cardstock!  I don't think this looks Christmasy-enough, so I'm going to re-do it and stamp snowflakes along with the white paint splatter so stay tuned!

My 9 year old wanted to play along with the Lawn Fawn challenge 'Calling All Critters'.  She loves all the Lawn Fawn stamps, and especially the critters... so ask me why she didn't use any Lawn Fawn stamps!?!?  LOL.  I do not know!  Anyway, here's her card for your viewing pleasure ;)

FINALLY getting back in the craft room, here's my card for the current Simon Says Stamp 'Stencil It' Challenge! 



I realized I am definitely in need of some stencils, I could only find ONE in my scrap room - the 6x6 Heidi Swapp "Lattice" stencil. 

I would also like to enter this card in the current Lawn Fawn challenge 'Calling All Critters!'.

Simon Says Stamp's Technique Challenge

Hello there :)

I created this card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!  The theme this week was "Love This Technique" and we were challenged to create something using a technique we love.  If I had more time, there's about 50 techniques I love, but this iron-off technique was the one that popped to my mind first :)

I stamped and colored the floral image with Peerless Water Colors, then masked it off and colored the background with a pretty blue color.  When it was dried, I put a piece of copy paper over top and ironed it gently to take the embossing off.  It was the first time I've ever tried it and I loved it as much as I thought I would! Yay for challenges~!!

A Moxie Fab Tree Challenge!

I barely remember how to do a blog post it's been so long !!!!

Today's card was made just for fun, a day before I read about the Moxie Fab Tree-mendous Trees Challenge.  I used kraft and white ink on the edges because I wanted something soft and kind of rustic to go with the white felt tree.  The tiny buttons and gems were the only thing I could think of to decorate it with!  I tried to make a shadow under the banner, but I don't think I like the black since there's no black anywhere else on the card.  Hmmm...?

Pretty Little Studio July Sketch Challenge

BE Inspired Challenge # 53 - Week 4

 

Hello, thank you for visiting!  I created this card by blending water and several colors of Distress Inks onto some Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock paper for the background.  After it dried completely, I covered it with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen.  I then stamped The Alley Way Stamp's  Star of the Show with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger's Liquid Platinum embossing powder.   That's it!  

 

P.S.  Sorry about the horrible lighting in the pic, there's actually reds, greens, blues, etc. on this card!!   Night time lighting in the house is not the right time to take a picture!

A Home Decor Piece

Hello!!

I created this cute little Halloween project for the Fall Home Decor Challenge in the Moxie Fab World !

I chose to use my absolute fave collection from last year - October Afternoon's Witch Hazel. 

The frame started it's life as an ugly, broken, brownish color...But after it was sprayed with this awesome crackle spray paint I bought, you could barely see the broken edges, which makes me happy!

 

And a close up so you can see the crackle effect and the Studio Calico silver embossed wood veneer stars!  Aren't they adorable??

I feel so horrible about not keeping up with my blog :(

One of my resolutions for the New Year was to be in my scrapbook room at least twice a week.  And I have accomplished that.. although I'm not always crafting while I'm there!!  Too many times, I just sit and stare out the window, at a loss for direction/mojo/inspiration.. whatever! I've managed to make several cards that I am submitting so I can't post them.  That's exciting huh?!  Wish me luck.
